With the Ubuntu Touch developer preview launching this week, the announcement about a tablet or at least an operating system for a tablet from Canonical has, it seems, taken a backseat. From the countdown that reads "Tick, tock, tablet time!" it is evident that Canonical is going to make some announcement about tablets tomorrow.
There is actually no information whatsoever except the countdown about a possible Ubuntu’s tablet launch. Tomorrow’s announcement from Canonical might not feature a tablet but, chances are that the Ubuntu maker will probably launch a developer preview of its tablet OS for some existing hardware like the Google Nexus as it is doing for its Ubuntu Touch.
With Canonical working on a smartphone OS for months now, it is not a long shot if we assume that they would have built a tablet OS side by side. All speculations aside, we will be returning in about 22 hours to unravel what Canonical has in store for us.
