Published on Wednesday, Yahoo’s Tumblr page showed off company’s new logo. Yahoo has adopted a new logo after 18 years since its formation and is a part of a makeover undertaken by Marissa Mayer.
After taken charge of the company, Mayer revamped Yahoo’s email interface, front page as well as Flickr photo-sharing service and has also bolstered Yahoo’s portfolio by acquiring multiple companies aimed at increasing and attracting traffic on mobile devices. Yahoo recently purchased the internet blogging service Tumblr for $1.1 Billion.
The logo has a white background and the company has stuck to purple colour for its letters spelling Yahoo ending with an exclamation mark. “We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots (whimsical, purple, with an exclamation point) yet embraced the evolution of our products,” a statement on Tumblr read.
Vigorous efforts were put by the company in the last 30 days to gather more interest in the entire makeover showing proposed logos. Kicking off the 30 days of change Kathy Savitt, Chief Marketing Officer had said, “The new logo will be a modern redesign that’s more reflective of our reimagined design and new experiences.
