Samsung has sent out invitations for its ‘Unpacked’ event to be held on September 4 in Berlin, Germany – a day before the annual IFA trade show.
From the looks of the invitation, one of the most likely candidates for a launch is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet. The Galaxy Note 2 successor is expected to have a 5.7-inch screen, 3GB RAM, a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz or Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 5 SoC (depending on the region), a large enough battery for long usage hours and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The special emphasis on the word ‘Note’ almost gives away that the South Korean consumer electronics giant is set to reveal its next Note phablet. We earlier reported the probability of Samsung releasing the Note 3 and the smartwatch through our own sources inside Samsung India as well as a Korean newspaper report.
The Unpacked even may also see Samsung releasing its own smartwatch to compete with Pebble and Sony’s smartwatch. The wearable tech will most probably be named ‘Galaxy Gear’. Samsung is also likely to announce quite a few tablet models at the event. Checkout the invitation below (sent to one of my journalist friends in UK):
