Red Hat announces general availability of its OpenStack products

Red Hat announced both the products about a month ago and the products are basically a combination of various other Red Hat products designed to help businesses setup their IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud.

Announcing the general availability, Red Hat notes that its Cloud Infrastructure product includes three major software: the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV), the Red Hat CloudForms system management and the Red Hat OpenStack IaaS. The most expensive version costs about $6,000 a year and the cheapest variant without any guest licenses costs $2,800 per year.

Red Hat’s Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform is made up of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Linux distribution and Red Hat OpenStack and priced between $2,150 and $4,500. As of now Red Hat OpenStack is still in evaluation phase and hence will not be available separately.

On top of the two bundles Red Hat is also making available version 3.2 of its Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.2. Users requiring premium support need to shell out $1,500 per year and those requiring just standard support for the software would need to pay $1,000.
