When Mozilla said that smartphone powered by Firefox OS will be cheap, we presumed that they may be somewhere around the $120-$150 mark but, ZTE Open is just going to cost $90. According to a tweet by Telefónica, the smartphone is launching in Spain tomorrow and will carry a price tag of €69 (~$90) – a whole $30 less than any developer unit we have seen so far.
If you think this was enough, well the next thing will definitely surprise you. The €69 price includes €30 ($39) of airtime for prepaid customers. This is definitely a whole lot cheaper than any smartphone available in the market but, the real question is will Spaniards be willing to do away with Google services and apps?
