Linux Mint 16 to be codenamed ‘Petra’, releasing at end of November

Linux Mint 16 will be the nineteenth release of the distribution and it will be based on Ubuntu 13.10 and will come in different editions based on the desktops – Cinnamon, MATE, KDE and Xfce desktops.

The project has also made available release candidates of Linux Mint 15 “Olivia” for KDE and Xfce editions. The release candidates, like the main edition, of the distribution use Linux 3.8 and are based on Ubuntu 13.04. The release candidates can be downloaded for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems from the distributions’ servers.
