If a user would enable online repositories while installing Mageia using the initial images, the bug would cause the installer to install the system using updates from the distribution’s development version, Cauldron, instead of the main version.
Developers did fix the issue, with a temporary solution though, preventing users from being affected by the bug. The temporary solution however didn’t go well with Cauldron users as they would need to go about manually adjusting their repository configuration.
Now, with the new ISO images, there is no need for such manual adjustments but, developers recommend that users check the DATE.txt file on the mirror to ensure that the new images they are downloading are the ones from June 6. The developers have also noted that in order to prevent further regressions the software in the new images haven’t been updated in any way because of which the original release errata still applies.
