The vulnerability is allegedly present in the uPlay launcher, which when exploited gives DRM free access to gaming titles from almost all game publishers including the likes of EA Games and Square Nix. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which hasn’t been released yet, is available on Ubisoft servers which hackers have downloaded. As a proof of the exploit, hackers even posted an 1 hour 30 mins long footage of the game.
Hackers have somehow managed to build a tool that fools the uPlay launcher into believing that the user already owns a copy of the game thereby giving access to a direct download link to the game for offline play. A screenshot of the game being downloaded has been posted by Gameranx.
