Windows Blue to Bridge Gap between Windows for PC, Windows Phone Platforms

According to DigiTimes, the Windows Blue operating system is being developed by a team which is separate from that of Windows and Windows Phone teams. A public preview of Windows Blue is likely to release sometime in June and will most probably be launched at the Build 2013 conference while the final version may launch sometime in October. Microsoft hasn’t officially confirmed either of the rumours.

Rumour has it that the Windows Blue operating system is being built to merge the two different Windows platforms and would compete with Google’s Android and Chrome. With Google already making headway into the PC segment with its Chromebooks from Asus and Samsung, chances are Microsoft is concerned about the progress. There were also rumours that Google is busy developing Android based notebooks and if this does turn out to be true, Ballmer may very well have to do some serious thinking.
