Recently two bugs were found in the previous iOS version which allowed access to your voicemail, contacts, and photos by initiating an emergency call and cancelling it. In this way the any person could get through the passcode and access your personal information.

Apple has been quick in fixing the bug this time while the emergency update also brings with it enhancements to the Maps in Japan. Apple has updated the Maps apps through system update which now has some more 3D landmarks. The new Maps also provide turn-by-turn navigation and better optimization of direction in Japan.

This update also brings sad news for the jailbreak community as Apple has patched the security holes used by evasi0n tool to jailbreak iOS devices. The popular evasi0n jailbreak works on most iOS devices running iOS 6.0 to iOS 6.1.2, so if you don’t want to lose your jailbreak avoid updating to iOS 6.1.3.

The update is merely 18.2 MB which can be downloaded over the air through the setting menu but it is recommended to update via PC or Mac.
