Sundar Pichai to Replace Andy Rubin as Android Chief

According to Larry Page, Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai will be an effective replacement for the independent Andy Rubin. After exceeding all the goal’s that the company dreamt of for Android and now with such a strong company leadership  team Andy now wants to hand over the reins and start a completely new chapter at Google.

Android, co-founded by Rubin in 2003, is presently a huge growing force in all the mobiles today. The software has been activated on more than 750 million mobile phones all over the world.  According to IDC, Android accounts for more than 70 per cent of the total global smartphone shipments in the last quarter of 2012.

Keval Desai, a former Google Project Management Director, said that Andy’s leadership style is similar to that of the late Apple CEO- Steve Jobs.

According to the recent ABI Research Reports, Android apps are expected to account for more than 58 per cent of the total downloaded applications in 2013, even ahead of 33 per cent share of Apple’s IOS application. Though Android is presently leading the mobile device space, but it will have to face tough competition from its competitors to sustain the leading position.
