A variety of benchmark tests were carried out last month and the results were not so unpredictable. NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 showed much better result than the previous Tegra 3 models. A new report suggests that Tegra 4 is even faster than Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 800 CPU.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 runs on 4 Krait cores which can tune their clock speeds according to the system needs. This unique feature makes Snapdragon more power efficient than its competitors. When these benchmark tests were being carried out there was no power restriction and Tegra 4 needed more power to give better results. Tegra 4 can however disable cores that are not needed but still Snapdragon outperforms Tegra 4 in terms of power efficiency.
Today many smartphones and tablets are being fuelled with powerful batteries but it seems that Qualcomm will be the first choice for smartphones while Tegra 4 will dominate the tablet market.
