“AT&T customers were the first to experience BlackBerry smartphones and services in the U.S. and we are thrilled to bring the next evolution, the BlackBerry Z10, to the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices and Developer Services, AT&T Mobility.
BlackBerry Z10 will be available in stores on March 22 while pre-orders will start tomorrow. It will be available for $199 on a two-year contract.
BlackBerry announced Z10 in January and it was released in United Kingdom, Canada and United Arab Emirates. BlackBerry also announced that U.S. consumers will get Z10 in March and it now BB has fulfilled its promise. It is to be noted that BlackBerry 10 devices have already seen many delays before being launched in January. U.S. carriers have strict review processes for new smartphones which takes some time. As a result new smartphones in U.S find it difficult to cope up with the International release dates.
Z10 will also be available on T-Mobile and Verizon. T-Mobile will start shipping Z10 this week while Verizon gave no release dates for this new device. BlackBerry Z10 is the first BlackBerry device running OS10 and the company is depending heavily on it to regain its lost smartphone market.
