The iWatch will feature a revolutionary, flexible multi touch display which, as Apple puts it, “can accomplish a number of different tasks including adjusting the order of a current playlist, or reviewing a list of recent phone calls. A response to a current text message can even be managed given a simple virtual keyboard configuration across the face of the flexible display.”

According to the patent filing, the iWatch can be used as an accessory to an iPhone for example, and the communication between the two devices will be accomplished wirelessly.

Apple may resort to either a solar energy panel or utilize kinetic energy along with standard battery to power the iWatch. The display may be an AMOLED unit, since recently Apple recruited a former researcher at LG Display, DR. Lee Jeung –Jil, a specialist in OLED displays. Apple is expected to use a large screen for the iWatch, which will be essential for map viewing, an important function for such a gadget, as the feature may become very popular to explorers and travelers.
