Costolo when asked, “When can we download all our tweets?” replied “End of the year” notes First Post. When asked whether Twitter will be providing any archiving tools, Costolo said that the microblogging site was all about shared experience and they want to “let third-party syndicate the tweets.”
Costolo talked about many other things including media companies, strength of Twitter in terms of number of employees, the Occupy Wall Street case and a Twitter Phone. When asked about a Twitter phone he replied that there were no plans for that as of now.
The option to download old tweets might just give Twitter a positive nudge as the microblogging site has gone ahead with API changes recently because of which it has been at the receiving end of negative remarks. Costolo has defended these changes saying that they were necessary as other companies were making money off the service without actually adding any “accretive value” notes Reuters.
