One of the apps, a utorrent remote control of sorts was approved by Apple earlier this year and surprisingly another uTorrent app was also approved by Cupertino just last week. But, it turns out that the happiness of Torrent fanbois was short lived as both these apps have been removed from the store.

According to TorrentFreak, Craig Donnelly, developer of the uTorrent Conttrol app, received a call from Apple’s headquarters yesterday. Donnelly said, “Got a call there a little earlier from California. It seems Apple are not ok with apps that have anything to do with BitTorrent.”

Donnelly further added that, “[the Apple personnel said]…Apple were sorry for the inconvenience but apps of this nature are not allowed in the store.”

This indicates that the any app to do with uTorrent, BitTorrent or Torrent for that matter is still banned from the Apple App Store.
