In an official statement to AllThingsD, an Apple spokesperson, Natalie Kerris, said that Cupertino is neither the source of any UDIDs that the law enforcement agency may have been hoarding nor has it provided any such information to any other organization.
“The FBI has not requested this information from Apple, nor have we provided it to the FBI or any organization,” Kerris said. FBI has also denied claims made by AntiSec that an agency’s laptop was the target of an attack through which the UDIDs were leaked.
Kerris further said, “Additionally, with iOS 6 we introduced a new set of APIs meant to replace the use of the UDID and will soon be banning the use of UDID”.
AntiSec made away with well over 12 million UDIDs and other related information and deemed fit to leak just a million out of the entire stash.
