The agency has said that it is fully aware of all the statements that are being made by the hacker collective and said that the laptop which the group is claiming to have breached hasn’t been hacked in the first place and that it hasn’t collected any of the information that has been leaked. AllThingsD has published the below statement delivered by an FBI spokesperson.
The FBI is aware of published reports alleging that an FBI laptop was compromised and private data regarding Apple UDIDs was exposed. At this time there is no evidence indicating that an FBI laptop was compromised or that the FBI either sought or obtained this data.
AntiSec leaked over a million UDIDs of iOS devices yesterday and claimed that the information was stolen from an FBI laptop. The group also claimed that they were in possession of over 12 million UDIDs and they were were only making public a part of that entire file.
FBI press office tweeted that the claims made were “TOTALLY FALSE”.
Statement soon on reports that one of our laptops with personal info was hacked. We never had info in question. Bottom Line: TOTALLY FALSE
