Qatar-based and world’s largest producer of liquefied natural gas came under attack from an ‘unknown virus’ on Monday forcing the energy giant to take its website RasGas.com and email server offline noted Bloomberg news. The company has revealed that none of the operational systems has been affected and that the production is intact.
This is the second documented attack which has hit a large energy company this month. The attack on RasGas took place on the August 27 whereby, according to an official of the company, desktop computers in company offices were affected. The official confirmed over the phone that the virus hasn’t affected production systems or cargoes.
