Phandroid got a tip late last night which actually puts Jelly Bean towards being a desktop operating system as it actually suffices one of the most basic requirements of such operating systems – support for multiple user accounts. The discovery has been made within the code of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean AOSP.
The developers stumbled upon a whole lot of code that signals towards one plausible conclusion – Google is working towards making Android as a desktop operating system. So what did the developers actually find? They found code related to multiple user accounts incorporated across the Jelly Bean code.
On the other hand guys over at Android Police have also made a similar discovery and have given a timeline of commits pushed to AOSP that dates back to as far as 14th April, 2011 right up to 28th March 2012.
What do you think? Is Android a good candidate for a desktop operating system? Let us know through your comments.
